Apple, Water, Stairs

I was talking with a client today and she asked, “How do I lose these last 20 pounds?”   I could have answered by saying, “Follow your plan,” or “Make sure to exercise”, or “Leave the junk food alone.”  Instead I gave her this, “Just do 3 things.”  I asked her to pick 3 things that if she did them every day, would get her closer to her goal.   You see sometimes we get so focused on the goal that we forget to focus on the steps, the important things that are totally in our control, that move us in the direction we want to go.  Although it’s wise to have a target in mind, it’s wiser to know what you absolutely can do every day that will get you there.  She picked eat her apple, drink her water, and walk the stairs.  It’s simple, it’s totally in her control, and it’s key to moving her toward her goal. Here’s my challenge to you, pick your top three things that, when you do them daily, will get you to your goal.  Make sure they are in your control and then make them a must instead of a maybe.  It’s simple.
